donating a vehicle to a cause you believe in? It's
easy! Here's how it works. Just call toll-free 877-686-PETS

to speak to a Woodford Humane Society Vehicle
Donation Representative. Our representative will
schedule a pickup that's convenient for you, and
provide you with confirmation of the donation.
If
the gross proceeds from the sale of your donated
vehicle are $500 ore more, and if you provide your
social security number to our Representative at the
time of your donation, you will also receive an IRS
Tax Form 1098C stating the sale price of your
vehicle. This amount is what you actually claim on
your itemized tax return. According to the tax law
effective January 1, 2005, if the claimed value of
the donated vehicle exceeds $500, the taxpayer is
limited to the gross proceeds of the sale.

CHAMPS
Emergency Medical Fund
Thanks
to the generosity of Board Secretary Susan Adams,
her husband Kurt and their family, we now have an
emergency medical fund that will provide medical
treatment that was beyond our ability in the past.
The CHAMPS Fund has been created to honor Susan and
Kurt’s family pets. The pets’ names, Chester,
Holly, Max and Mindy, Peanut
and Sam, combine to form CHAMPS.
Think of
the possibilities this will create for our animals!!
This fund takes one us one giant step closer
to our goal of No More Homeless Pets!! Gifts to the
CHAMPS. Fund should be marked “For CHAMPS.”

a Kroger Gift Card to Help the Animals
It
costs you nothing!! Buy a card from us today for $20
and use it to buy $20 worth of merchandise at any
Kroger store nationwide. Every time you put more
funds on the card to buy groceries, Kroger makes a
4% donation to the Woodford Humane Society! You can
recharge the card with a check, cash or credit card,
right at the register. Just be sure you recharge the
card before they ring up your groceries so you can

Double
your Money in the SAVE
Matching Gift & Endowment Fund
Our
S.A.V.E. Matching Gift & Endowment Fund is
a great way to make your contribution go twice
as far in helping our cats and dogs. Two
anonymous donors have very generously pledged
a combined $45,000 in matching funds this
year. But this pledge is available to us only
if we can secure matching funds by December
31, 2008.
A
portion of the funds raised is placed in a
permanent endowment fund and income from the
fund helps the animals. The remainder goes
directly toward caring for the animals.
Your
gift of $100 or more, earmarked for S.A.V.E.,
will allow us to continue to focus on the
things we do best: Spay/neuter, Adoptions,
Volunteerism and Education!
