New Children's Book Helps the Animals

A Friend Indeed, written by Josephine Abercrombie, is sure to become a classic! This book is the second to be published by Ms. Abercrombie, following Charlie the Horse, published in 2004. When you buy A Friend Indeed, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to our animals.

The book is sold exclusively at Joseph-Beth Booksellers and at our Adoption Center. Use your Joseph-Beth Gives Back card for your purchase and help the animals twice!

Original paintings by Benjamin Vincent, Dallas TX. Artwork was the signature art for Freedom Fest 2009.

Make an Automatic Recurring Gift

Recurring gifts give you the opportunity to support our work over time instead of a single, larger gift. This kind of giving makes it easier for you because it is automatic from either your credit card or deducted straight from your bank account on a regular basis. For example: Many people find it more convenient and affordable to automatically give $10 every month, but would not be able to give $120 in a single annual gift. To get started with your pledge giving, just visit our Make a Donation page.

Sponsor the Adoptable Pet of Your Choice!

We work hard to find that perfect forever home for every one of our residents, but sometimes it can take a while to make the match. Meanwhile, we do everything in our power to make their stay with us as pleasant and enriching as we can. Dogs get plenty of play time and walks, and cats laze in hammocks or sunny windowsill in our cat colonies.

The average cost of a pet stay at our facility is more than $550. If one of our pets steals your heart but you can't adopt, you can still help by
sponsoring a pet. Your gift of $25 or more will go toward that pet's care and your gift will be listed in the next issue of our Paw Prints newsletter.

Save your Used Ink and Toner Cartridges

Drop off your used cartridges and cell phones at our Adoption Center and we'll get money back for them! If you'd like to set up a collection bin at your place of work we will pick them up from you. For details, email Marty.

GoodSearch: You Search...We Give!

Use GoodSearch to Search or Shop

GoodSearch.com is a Yahoo-powered search engine that donates half its advertising revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities its users designate. Use it just as you would any search engine and get quality search results from Yahoo.

Just go to www.goodsearch.com and be sure to enter the Woodford Humane Society as the charity you want to support. And, be sure to spread the word!

Donate Your Car or Truck

Interested in donating a vehicle to a cause you believe in? It's easy! Here's how it works. Call toll-free 877-686-PETS (877-686-7387) or donations@charitableautoresources.com to speak to a Woodford Humane Society Vehicle Donation Representative. Our representative will schedule a pickup that's convenient for you, and provide you with confirmation of the donation.

If the gross proceeds from the sale of your donated vehicle are $500 or more, and if you provide your social security number to our Representative at the time of your donation, you will also receive an IRS Tax Form 1098C stating the sale price of your vehicle. This amount is what you actually claim on your itemized tax return. According to the tax law effective January 1, 2005, if the claimed value of the donated vehicle exceeds $500, the taxpayer is limited to the gross proceeds of the sale.
