Just Dogs! Gourmet in the Palomar Shopping Center in Lexington is a drop-off center for donations from our Wish List! Drop off an item or two for the animals at their store, and receive a free cookie for your dog!

You Stepped In What? is a fully licensed and insured professional pet and animal waste management service in central Kentucky. They boldly go where your dog has gone before.

Richard has been at UK since 1995 and teaches First Amendment law and other subjects. He has a Ph.D. in political science from the University of California and a law degree from Seattle University School of Law. He is the author of five books, including, most recently, "James Madison and the Struggle for the Bill of Rights." Prior to pursuing an academic career, Labunski worked for ten years in radio and TV news in Washington DC, San Francisco, Reno and Tucson.

A Friend Indeed, written by Josephine Abercrombie, is sure to become a classic! This book is the second to be published by Ms. Abercrombie, following Charlie the Horse, published in 2004. When you buy A Friend Indeed, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to our animals.

Use a Kroger Shopping Card to Help the Animals

Remember to use your card! A card with a zero balance for 90 days will be deleted from Kroger's system. It will not be rechargeable. You will need to purchase a new card from us to continue the donation process. If you have a balance on your card but do not use it for 12 months, Kroger will assess a $2 retroactive charge for each month of inactivity until the card is used or the balance is zero.

Make an Automatic Recurring Gift

Recurring gifts give you the opportunity to support our work over time instead of a single, larger gift. This kind of giving makes it easier for you because it is automatic from either your credit card or deducted straight from your bank account on a regular basis. For example: Many people find it more convenient and affordable to automatically give $10 every month, but would not be able to give $120 in a single annual gift. Sponsor the Adoptable Pet of Your Choice!

We work hard to find that perfect forever home for every one of our residents, but sometimes it can take a while to make the match. Meanwhile, we do everything in our power to make their stay with us as pleasant and enriching as we can. Dogs get plenty of play time and walks, and cats laze in hammocks or sunny windowsill in our cat colonies.

The average cost of a pet stay at our facility is more than $550. If one of our pets steals your heart but you can't adopt, you can still help by sponsoring a pet. Your gift of $25 or more will go toward that pet's care and your gift will be listed in the next issue of our Paw Prints newsletter.

Drop off your used cartridges and cell phones at our Adoption Center and we'll get money back for them! If you'd like to set up a collection bin at your place of work we will pick them up from you. For details, email Marty.

Donate Your Car or Truck

If the gross proceeds from the sale of your donated vehicle are $500 or more, and if you provide your social security number to our Representative at the time of your donation, you will also receive an IRS Tax Form 1098C stating the sale price of your vehicle. This amount is what you actually claim on your itemized tax return. According to the tax law effective January 1, 2005, if the claimed value of the donated vehicle exceeds $500, the taxpayer is limited to the gross proceeds of the sale.
